This was a great shounen-ai that focused on character development and interactions involving the MCs, their friends and families. I loved the beautiful uke who looked rather feminine with his slight build and delicate features. He was so optimistic and bright, but he had insecurities he had to manage and was a victim to verbal and physical abuse at home. All of that aside, he was a dangerous person to mess with and I think I loved that trait most of all. His loner tsundere love interest was his opposite in many ways, but they fit together in a way that made sense. I liked that the boys had quarrels and misunderstandings but were able to resolve them and I loved their loyalty to each other.

I enjoyed the story very much. It was sweet and Hirano was very cute with his puppy like reactions. I seriously struggled with the art when full body scenes were given. The artist had really, REALLY poor skills with body proportions, drawing tiny heads on over sized bodies. It was like some sort of witch doctor voodoo head shrinking magic and it made the characters look chubby too.

Girl Got Game

Complete | Seino Shizuru | 2000 released

Kyo Aizawa is very excited about getting to attend Seisyu Academy. That is, until she realises that her basketball obsessed father has enrolled her as a boy so that she can live his dream. So begins Aizawa’s chaotic freshman year of high school where she gets to do all the fun and awkward things boys do, and one thing that is all for her girls heart. The story is often laugh out loud hilarious but there are also plenty of serious moments to tug the heartstrings.
