Kuchisake-onna or Slit-Mouthed Woman is a malicious spirit from Japanese folklore who terrifies with her frightening appearance. At least she did until she tries to scare 13yo Sano Kouichi who is remarkably unimpressed by her terrible visage. The story was really quite adorable. It’s not Shota, the age of Kouichi is merely from their first meeting and it spans the years until he is 28.

Trigger Warning: Rape A rather confusing horror story that comes together to make sense only in the final chapter. Teacher Hizuki Reiji is thrust into the middle of a mystery when he moves to another town for a substitute teaching position. There is the missing teacher, cold presences, possessed trees and wrapped body parts. And then there is problem child Magaki Kyoichi, a sleepy troublemaker with a temper and a penchant for raping Reiji. The ending made sense of the warped reality that Reiji found himself in, but it was a little disappointing that it was more mundane than supernatural. Still, an interesting reading.

Story is completed. In this dark story, high school elite Rurikawa (Wolf. Alpha. Male.) is a dominant species in a world of carnivores and herbivores. Instincts, beauty, and intelligence make him a desired breeding partner, but Rurikawa is looking for a rare special mate to impregnate. Other alphas won’t do, and betas are just food. So when he meets a lower species, Kyougokuin (Rabbit. Beta. Male.) Rurikawa is stunned to be overwhelmed by the need to breed the beautiful creature before him. Is it fate? Or is there more to this predatory bunny than being a real man eater? This story is definitely dark with horror themes. It makes it challenging to like the MCs when they are truly not very likeable. But they aren’t as 2D as they first appear with softer sides, loyalty and friendship keeping them interesting and ofc the babies in the school are very cute.
