Eh, it was ok for me. I get the author was going for a darker, psychological, sorrowful kind of story with a passionate type of love, but it just didn’t hit for me and felt kind of rushed and forced. Things weren’t developed very well but were kind of mentioned. Kirino needs therapy to deal with the loss of his mom and lack of self worth and to repair his relationship with his father. Glad he found happiness with Takase, but it’s not healthy to hinge your whole happiness on one person, as romantic as that may seem in fiction. We got an intro into his problems but no real resolution besides he fell in love and then a happily ever after. It was nice to see some depth in Takase as well but I didn’t connect with either character. It was like this was meant to be something deep and poetic, but it felt superficial and dramatic and pessimistic. It also didn’t take the time to develop the relationship or feelings, so it wasn’t as convincing to me. It just didn’t do it for me.
