novel is better but I do love this adaptation, it's just a bit- well, I find it weird how Xie Lian isn't ripped since he can break stone tiles on his chest and all that. Like, just because he is presumed to be the uke (i don't like using those terms since I don't want to sexualize couples), it doesn't mean he should appear more similar to a female than Hua Cheng
In the novel Xie Lian is described as muscular/buff, so I don't believe this is an accurate depiction of his appearance other than his face
