Linnea's manga / #straight X gay(24)

Warai Hitsuji to Naki Ookami

Complete | FUWA Shinri | 2016 released

24.7.2020 Oh my gawd, after seeing this author write lots of plot focused manga WITHOUT wholesome sex and romantic couple lovey dovey things, suddenly there’s this GREAT story about a widowed lawyer and an OBGyn doctor.

Mie Hariatte Surechigai

Complete | yukue moegi | 2000 released

11.8.2020 This was BL with more gag in it than love, so it would have been nice to see some more of that.

Hitorijime no Jouken

Complete | Nakata Akira | 2000 released

Tasogare Outfocus

Complete | Janome | 2019 released

14.9.2020 Shit, the story and the artwork in this one is a m a z i n g. Really got to me, even if the couple is a pair of 16 y o high schoolers.

Noboseru Karada

Complete | MINAZUKI Akira | 2000 released

31.9.2020 The semes in this linked two couple story were, in my opinon, way too forceful.

24 Jikan Ochi nai Kiss

Complete | KATOH Susu | 2018 released

21.10.2020 So... the story starts out with the uke being basically an asshat of a player boss (Takumi), and the seme being this passive aggressive introvert (Ryo). However, due to a company drinking event that ends with the asshat deciding to take everyone to a brothel (srsly?!?) and Ryo just up and leaves, the alcohol makes Takumi feel forced as a boss to try and help Ryo ”get over his hatred for women” by talking about it. It ends with Ryo getting so pissed that he forces himself on Takumi, who passes out. As a cherry on top, Ryo puts on Takumi’s girlfriend’s lipstick and places a big one on Takumi’s chest. Takumi’s girlfriend leaves him. Naturally. And Takumi can’t sort out his feelings about it all afterwards, and this is the hardest part in the story for me. After a bunch of drama, Ryo and Takumi do get together, and they even learn to communicate and grow as a couple - even to the point of coming out at the office as an official couple! (The whole ”our company guidelines don”t say anything about coworkers not being able to date”) And their coworkers accept it, even of they’re weird about it at first. I’m giving it 5 stars because it does present some realistic charachter growth and reflection about it, as well as portraying smart modern people in an office, even if there’s tons of drama. I really liked it. I’d like to buy it on Renta. Also, one of the side characters is a transwoman.
