While protecting Alvin under his name, Kinard notices how much Alvin had changed since childhood, and a new feeling other different than remorse begins to sprout, as Kinard's revenge filled heart slowly dissipates... 10 years prior kinard was engaged to Judith, judith was framed for poisoning the duchess and sentenced to be executed by hanging however someone shot judith and killed her. Raman had arranged/bribed the hanging ppl(?) to delay it until kinard arrived and saved judith. While this was going around, lou's parents were murdered and isaac took lou under the pretense of saving and protecting him, we can presume isaac was involved in the murder. The lou family mansion was burned down to hide the evidence of any foul play so everyone including kinard assumed they all died by fire, but princess of the kingdom mentioned that they never found lou's remains however since they presumed they were all inside the house when it caught fire they deemed him dead. During the funeral attendance of judith we find out that kinard and judith's planned marriage was more of a contract than anything, and that judith loved the princess hence the ring that perfectly fits her middle finger. Couple years later we see that yesing and kinard did business with isaac, basically isaac's medicines aka goods helped them clear up bodies better. kinard met lou when he ran out for a split second before isaac dragged him back to the room, also Isaac brainwashed lou into thinking his name was lerone that's why kinard was confused. However he inquired isaac about whether or not he has an idea about Lou family the next time he visited but isaac shut him down.
