Native American's bestfriend is an asshole and a homophobic but should be tolerated coz he's reared by an abusive dad. But "it's ok" coz love wins. Mom steps back and realize she shouldn't dissuade her son's love. White guy's parents has lingering prejudice of "it's a shame" but they're pretty welcoming. Bestfriend realized he's been an asshole and apologized (did get mauled and turned to a werewolf, so he's fr staying). It's a "if they don't accept my happiness, they never really cared about me" type of relationship woven to balance all relationships affected by same sex relationship
