Udon no Kuni no Kin'iro Kemari

Ongoing | Shinomaru Nodoka | 2000 released

c20. tf with him getting away with it—besides that, the whole thing is wholesome and adorable. I love how pleasantly amiable and patient souta is. there's also this message being sent that one doesnt need to force having a child if you know you can't handle parenting. you don't have to be married if you know you won't prioritize your marriage. parenting isn't limited to blood relation... and a village does raise a child because then poco gets to learn from everyone. this doesnt show much of the stereotypic and traditional family structure. u could think of poco as an orphan, or even souta as a single parent. it all boils down to one's ability to be responsible and accountable for the relationship you foster with others: as a parent, a friend, a spouse, or even as a doctor.

it's been a year since season 1 was posted. I feel so warm and almost in the edge when it comes to his health. But their relationship is so wholesome

Aiou Futari

Complete | NISHIMA Nakamichi | 2022 released

i wanna pin it for later coz im here too stuck sympathizing with the son and also dying after he offered to replace his mom. Spoiler ~ read it—fuck that made me cry. not only did it unravel both accepting and nonaccepting families of gays, it also validates unconventional families (adopted or potential same sex parents). Plus my heart is just clenching over the fact that Keigo joined the app to be a sugar baby just so he could bridge the gap just like how kazu's mom became a sugar mommy to understand kazu

Hidamari ga Kikoeru

Complete | FUMINO Yuki | 2014 released

I was purged of all my emotions. I was barely getting thru most of the chapters because of the circumstance, certain character "flaws", and the reality being depicted. Bottomline for me is that disability is taken by those experiencing nd witnissing it differently, even those belonging in either groups. Either not unfortunate enough or too warped into the world you're from (privilege/discrimination). I can really feel how much the author poured into this story to make sure that it's not black white nor generalized. Even the person who is "unbiased" tend to get ahead of himself or those who have been suffering so much become uhmm unhearing to those who love them and do stuff in order to make a safe space with them
