I LOVE THIS. There is conflict that exists within the characters and not just by mere chance. The premise isn’t particularly extreme like in most BL manga but it is realistic. I like how the author built a world that didn’t romanticized disability. She also created characters that represented the perspectives of the impaired. There is nothing heroic about the characters. Everything is raw and beautiful. The relationships are natural. There are no grand confessions or theatric confrontations but this has made me shed countless of tears ever since I started reading. The build up is slow and organic, very convincing and it tugs you along its developments. Please don’t hesitate to read this! For smut lovers there there isn’t any smut here so far but I promise that you won’t even be looking for it once you get invested.

Surprisingly wholesome. When I read the summary I was thinking that this was going to be another toxic story with blackmail as its main driving point but as the story goes on it became more of a slice-of-life type than the original mafia-esque plot that I was expecting. A pretty normal BL couple to be honest like little jealous episodes, a clingy seme, a soft but determined uke and a hilarious set of mismatched friends. I was expecting a coming out arc from Shen Sheng and maybe a confrontation from his mother since that conflict was introduced but nothing really came out of it. The two blond stepbrothers’ story had a lot of potential but it was left like that. Five stars because I enjoyed this a lot even if I wasn’t satisfied with the ending. I love the banter so much.
