I was very invested in this webtoon for a while. The art was stunning and the premise was interesting. It was when Seonyun was introduced that I began to have issues. He was written to be a manipulative and revolting character, which is fine! He’s the antagonist to oppose their love story. So why the F**K is he “redeemed” in the end? I know people are just here for the sexy times, but ffs the story in its final act becomes a mess. Siwon; how far he has fallen. He started off as an insecure, but lovably imperfect protagonist who tends to make the wrong decisions out of fear or impulse, a lot of it due to his rejection in his past, and he’s easy to relate to. But once he thought he might’ve loved Seonyun while he was being HELD HOSTAGE AND ABUSED, all my attempts to rationalize his decisions imploded. Seriously Siwon, just google Stockholm syndrome. BL has the gross trend and history of glamorizing rape and its unfortunate to see that it still persists in this day and age. On top of sending a bad message to readers, it’s just idiotic in terms of the story. WHY would Siwon or Jinha forgive Seonyun for what he’s done? We’re really supposed to believe that they’re cool with the man (who literally f**king kidnapped them) visiting their home to chat about his future CAREER in the epilogue? It was just..so stupid. It absolutely killed what little love I had left for the series. I promptly skimmed the last pages, shut off my phone, took deep breaths, and mourned the hours I wasted on this story. He should be in jail lmfao. Or at least have SOME repercussions for his actions! Lord help me
