Summary
In her homeland, Princess Oriana of the Kingdom of Lifarl is hated and feared for her heterochromatic “demon eyes.” For all of her eighteen years, she has been imprisoned in the highest room of a tower, suffering neglect and abuse from her parents. One day, her father offers her as a tribute to Emperor Radolfas of the Reagald Empire, a ruler feared for his “cold justice” in relentlessly eliminating threats to the empire. To gain his favor, her father lies, claiming Oriana’s eyes are the fabled “Goddess’s Blessing.” While Oriana worries about the falsehood being discovered, Radolfas, upon seeing her, abruptly declares she will be made empress. Then, with icy indifference, he adds: “Once you bear me an heir, your role will be over.”
