“You’re even prettier up close, handsome.”

From the moment they first met, Chariot openly flirted with Yuri despite them both being alphas. Watching him act that way, Yuri quickly concluded that the two of them were completely incompatible and that he could never become close to someone like him.

“So Yuri was trash after all.”

And just as Yuri expected, the moment he accepted the assignment, his relationship with Chariot rapidly deteriorated into the worst possible state. Chariot, who despises criminals with a passion, pushes Yuri away the instant he learns his true identity. He doesn’t hesitate to throw sharp words at him, displaying intense hostility instead of the eager friendliness he had shown before.

However, what Yuri had assumed was merely a simple romantic dispute soon transforms into a situation that threatens Chariot’s life. Left with no other choice, Yuri ends up temporarily protecting him until he can find a new bodyguard.

“Wasn’t the whole point that you didn’t even want to touch a bad guy?”

“Hating you and touching you are two separate things.”

Even though he knows perfectly well that Yuri is a criminal, Chariot begins, at some point, to confuse him with sweet words that are completely different from the attitude he initially displayed.

“What do you take me for, Yuri? I could carry someone like you easily. Hockey players aren’t just good at fighting—we’re strong, too.”

“Is that your type? Is any omega good enough?”

“No matter how you look at it, I’m more handsome, aren’t I? Even if we’re talking about who’s prettier, isn’t it still me?”

The man Yuri had dismissed as merely frivolous casually placed into his hands things he had never possessed before.

And in the end, he made Yuri long for feelings he should never have desired.

Even knowing that they could never truly be together, a spark gradually ignites within Yuri’s heart. And so begins his devoted journey to protect Chariot at all costs.
