Summary
Cecilia, a countess, marries her dream Ralph, a marquess. But on their wedding day, Ralph reveals Cecilia must live with his childhood friend Angela. Though Cecilia accepts this at first, she grows uneasy. Angela acts like a wife, is always favored by Ralph and even by the servants. Cecilia’s new married life becomes painful. Feeling betrayed and disregarded, Cecilia finally decides to escape from Ralph’s household.
