The 16-year-old girl, He Xi, followed her mother from the mainland to live in the Central and Western District of Hong Kong. They lived in ordinary accommodation and experienced poverty. He Xi's mother relied on a porridge stall to make a living. He Xi originally thought that life would go on like this.
