Haegwon, a descendant of an imoogi that ascended imperfectly, was originally a spiritual being, but due to an ancestor’s mistake, he ended up becoming human. In order to break the heavenly curse, his family must find the yongrin (“dragon scale”) possessed by the Do clan.

Though Haegwon’s family has sacrificed themselves for an unfathomably long time for the sake of the Do family, they still cannot easily get close to the yongrin. So they decide to send Haegwon into the Do household to attend to Do Chanyi, planning for him to steal the yongrin by using his closeness with Chanyi.

However, after meeting Chanyi, Haegwon quietly falls in unrequited love with him and hesitates to use him. To make matters worse, Chanyi secretly goes abroad to study without telling Haegwon. Then one day, just like the day he left without a word, Chanyi suddenly appears before him again.
