Pyo Tae-jeong (28) A handsome, cold, and enigmatic man with antisocial and sadistic tendencies. Arrogant by nature, he has never experienced feelings such as inferiority or impatience, and even after being stranded on a deserted island, he never once wavered. His perfectly sculpted face and formidable survival skills provide a frighteningly intense stimulation that shakes Seo-a to her core. While caring for Seo-a after they become stranded together, he takes her in as his rather adorable “pet human,” only to experience despair for the first time in his life.

Yoon Seo-a (24) A sheltered city girl who had been cruising along a peaceful and privileged path in life before suddenly ending up on a deserted island. Innocent and easily susceptible to gaslighting, she chooses to cooperate with and admire Tae-jeong, the relatively stronger one in their world of only two people, rather than suspecting or keeping her guard up around him. She somehow has surprisingly good instincts, which saves her from an even more miserable fate. Proving the *suspension bridge effect* in full, she falls in love with Tae-jeong and eventually stubbornly saves him from his downfall—only to bring him crashing down herself.
