The Lord's First Night

"Go to the bed and lie face down." Burdened by the debt left by her deceased parents and a young sibling she must care for, Louise lives diligently, never losing her warm heart despite her difficult circumstances. One day, her troublemaking older brother, little better than a good-for-nothing idler, unilaterally informs her about a marriage arrangement. Having gambled away the money meant for the marriage tax, he boasts that he will pay it off using the bride's choyakwon (right of the first night) instead... To protect his own lover (the intended bride), he pressures Louise to go in her place. "The Lord is a very strict person." Facing threats she cannot refuse, Louise eventually heads to the castle. However, the Lord, having spent long years on the battlefield, is feared by all for his razor-sharp, ruthless nature... When Louise stated her age in a small voice, he nodded with a slight frown. Looking as if he might say something more, he let out a short sigh and then, without even looking at her, gestured towards the bed with his chin. His low, resonant voice carried a heavy, irresistible sense of intimidation.
