Fetishes And Kinks

Ok. I have fetishes and am asking this because I’m curious how other people with fetishes experience the world.
I have fetishes, and they never stop being interesting to me. Like sure they’re hot but I can’t really explain why. it just is.
For me, I have what is normal romantic attraction where I get crushes on boys and think about them and get nervous I guess. I also love shipping and get a similar amorous and flustered feeling when I read BL and other types of romance. I also have normal sexual attraction to like. You know normal human bodies and stuff.
Then there’s my fetishes. They feel distinctly different from my normal sexual attraction. they’re just there and are what I get off to because... what can i say they’re just so viscerally sexy to me. However, I’ve seen other people with my fetish(es) say they have difficulty in relationships that don’t involve significant others that appeal to their fetishes (For example, one of my fetishes is weight gain, I’ve heard some people with that fetish say that they’ve had ruined relationships over their partner being skinny. I can’t imagine this happening to me because to me it’s just something that’s weirdly sexy to me) So I wonder if anyone else has a complex relationship with their fetish like this. They're just so interesting to me. Or you can just say anything else about your fetish and your relationship with it they are literally so cool and one of the most bizarre and interesting things about humans in my opinion.

I do believe that yaoi can have tendencies to fetishize gay men- some yaois more than others, but I don’t think it’s any more fetishized/sexualized than straight relationships. I think it’s when people get ahead of themselves and start to ship and bother real people that it becomes a problem. If they push their ship onto real people(Bothering two people who don’t show any signs they are in a relationship), then that’s the actual fetishization of gay men; I don’t think enjoying yaoi necessarily means that you fetishize them. Some yaoi actually portray realistic relationships, while others are just porn. There’s nothing wrong with porn- there’s straight and lesbian porn so I don’t see how yaoi fetishizes it more than the others. As long as you keep fiction away from real life, I don’t think It’s “disgusting” to like reading yaoi.

When the argument that yaoi fetishizes gay men comes up, it’s often by a person who’s never read a yaoi manga(a good one at least) so I’m curious to see others’ opinions on this. Do you think yaoi fetishizes gay men? If you are a gay man yourself, does it bother you that women read and sometimes get off to yaoi manga?
