My mother knows that I read / watch ( but doesn't know that some are quite extreme with rape, etc..) and is totally open to it but there's no way I'd watch it with her. Even though I don't have any taboos subjects with her, I wouldn't even think or watching one with her nor even talk to her about it because I know that she doesn't have any interes...... reply
TBH I haven't really watched much yaoi, like I've watched all that I can find but if you're trying to open their mind about gay relationships yaoi anime probably isn't the way to do it bc they're usually not very true to life they're rather idealistic. My parents don't know what yaoi is, but my brothers do. They aren't as liberal and open to LGBT related stuff (even if this stuff is generally written by women for a female audience) as compared to other social and cultural fads.
Since many yaoi are explicit porn with plot stories, they'd assume I'm gay because I like this stuff being a guy. I bel...... reply

That's like asking if you watch hentai with your parents. Yaoi STRICTLY refers to BL porn, predominantly referring to short doujinshis & smutty oneshots. It's an acronym thatbmeans "plotless & meaningless." One does not watch porn with their parents. I can't even bare to watch straight people kiss on tv shows if relatives are in the same room.
