Character Obsession

People literally want the mc to get raped.....what the fuck?? He's drunk and disabled. He can't give consent. He's in a vulnerable position and the blond bitch is taking advantage of him. Idgaf if he's hot. If he was ugly you'd be on his ass.

Yeah it may be fiction, but wanting someone to get raped is not a good thing. Romanticizing sexual assault isn't a good thing. Now I understand why people hate some of y'all fujoshi.

Now on a separate note, fujoshi, yaoi and fetishizing mlm content:

In Japan, there isn't really a distinction between shounen ai and yaoi, it all falls under the umbrella of bl (boy's love). Only in the west, yaoi is a separate genre.

I don't think women reading bl is inherently fetishizing. For many women, it can be a way to explore their sexuality, while keeping a distance of sorts. However, the moment it becomes a problem is when you see fictional bl couples and think it's cute, but are homphobic towards actual lgbt people irl (thinking lesbians are gross) and fetishizing irl gay couples (asking irl gay couples who's the seme/uke).

On the other hand, something about the word "fujoshi" makes me cringe. It means "rotten girl" and kinda implies that reading gay shit is sinful. If anybody calls themselves a fujoshi around me, I am keeping my distance from you. Just say you read bl.

Sure, a person's favorite fictional character may not love them back; but I think it's fine to express such feelings as a healthy outlet!
I support the selfship and character x oc stories, and it's nice hearing people be confident about it too. ^^
