here is some knowledge when bashing against anti fujos who think they know something, or just for people who arent educated in general. i see some people here still use terms that r gonna get ppl mad at u, or some people who are just uneducated.

1. Yaoi and shounen ai are outdated terms. they all go under the term bl. shounen ai translates to boys love,,, literally. as in some p*do type shit. yaoi is an old term that japanese people dont use anymore. instead, just use mature/spicy bl instead of yaoi bc ppl dont be using it anymore.

2. fujoshi isnt a bad word or insult. japanese mlm and japanese people have stated it quite literally means girl who read bl. stop using it as an inuslt. it was very westernized by english readers to mean girl who fetishizes mlm. its not.

3. reading mature bl isnt fetishizing. stop saying 'u can read bl but not yaoi that has gay sex which means fetishizing mlm!" no. no. no. reading mature bl does not make you fetishize mlm. reading any mature bl doesnt. you are fetishizing if you look at mlm as ur sex objects, or are obsessed with gay men itself. for example: you see a gay couple in the street. you get excited because uwu! real life yaoi?! let me take pics! thats fetishizing. pls dont do it. dont say you want to be a man to be gay to have gay sex. i see it too much.

4. this is an opinion, but i dont think only reading bl is harmful? all in all its just fiction (i HATE this argument but i have to admit its true when it comes to this) and as long as you arent being weird about it, then go ahead. at least try to get interested in gl and sl haha. its a bit weird if you have an unhealthy obsession with looking at gay men having sex.

it really sucks when people say we fetishize mlm for reaing a genre of romance. they never apply the same bullshit for any other romance and it gets irritating.
