Eh, I love and respect my country, but you won't see me painting the flag on my body, or wearing the country's colors. Too much of anything is always a bad thing. It's always better to act accordingly and respectfully of your country/flag/government, than such shouting out loud "I LUV MAH COUNTRY, IM 100% PATRIOTIC" while acting like a dick. So to start off, there's a big difference between patriotism and nationalism.
Nationalism is the toxic form of patriotism - basically, you "love" your country so much, that you stoop to putting other nations down and considering them as below you.

I live in Greece which is a country with a rich history so nationalism has been a problem ever since I remember. I do like my culture and Greece is a beautiful place but I would not consider myself patriotic in terms of supporting it as a whole, due to the corrupt government and the widespread bigotry. reply
I've seen people who are either very patriotic or people like me who wouldn't classify themselves as being patriotic, honestly I can't bring myself to LOVE my country but i'd like to get other people's point of view and opinions in regards to patriotism, and what they define as being "patriotic"
