i don't read much yaoi, because women, but i happened upon here u are accidentaly, but its now become one of my favourite manhuas:
(note; this may contain spoilers)
1. an accurate depiction of homosexuality; as a member of the lgbtq+ community myself, it's annoying when there's little or bad representation in the media. so the way djun (author) depicted the hardships gay men go through and not how it is always just sex sex sex like many other yaois have it made me smile. i don't see many manhuas showing gay relationships like this - they usually gloss over the whole homophobia thing, but djun has dedicated whole chapters to it. i feel like this adds something to the genre and breaks away from the typical yaoi stereotype; fujos may learn a thing or two about gay relationships in reality.
2. its made by a man (i think): i'm not 100% certain, but in one of the chapters there was a refrence to djun, and he/him was used. this, once again, makes me happy, because the author knows not to fetishize gay men like many fujos do.
3. the relatability: i cried while reading this, during the scene in which YuYang's family is being homophobic, because ive experienced something similar, and i rarely see scenes like this in which homophobia is depicted. we gettin that rep :)))
4. no "weak bottom" stereotype: YuYang's a baddie bitch and wont take shiit from no-one. chile he doesn't even need a man, fuck you lihuan. but all that queen shit aside, i love how Yuyang is badass and stands up for himself. sure, hes short and whatver, but he fought those homophobic asses and dragged them. king behaviour. and the way he's uncloseted from the start? ugh i have no choice but to stan
5. love triangles? squares? polygons?: the plot is INTERESTING!!111!11! sure, maybe it was love at first sight for Lihuan, but YuYang was infatuated with someone else before his true love. so fuck you, fairytale plot-based yaois. this love is portrayed REALISTICLY babye gorl.
