MC lives in downtown Pennsylvania and loves to take pictures during her free time. She works for a reputable magazine company named, "A. Manchester" as a photographer for the company. MC takes two days off and walks to the river near her house to take some pictures. She finds a french style cafe that she had never seen before while walking to her destination. She decides to check it out and wouldn't you know it?! The cafe owner is the ML of the story! So anyway, they fall in love and the story ends with a power plant exploding while they're on a road trip. ML dies by sacrificing herself to save MC and MC loses her leg during the explosion so she basically becomes an amputee.
