I agree with you. Mine is similar or same, just different pov on it maybe? It's when after they confirm their relationship, suddenly mc or ml's previous friends becomes 'rivals'. I would classify this as a tiny troupe because I’ve recently been told I can hold a grudge. So I might be the problem, but when someone continually messes with the MC and there is no redeeming event or conversation about what happened, I get pissed if they’re forgiven. For me it would be any romance story where the mc or love interest are never depicted hanging out with friends. Like, yes there are definitely people who just don't have friends, but its (in my opinion) not very healthy to have your only important relationship be your partner. Also, if they don't have friends, I feel like it should at least be mentioned or have an impact on the character/their descriptions, instead of just completely omitting any mention or visual cue of a character having relationships outside of the romantic story premise.
Curious as to what irks other people in stories that might have js gone completely over my head.
