To me, fetishizing gay men is to use them as a sexual fantasy. So, if a straight girl read BL to get off that's problematic. However, it's ok to read BL (I include yaoi) if you're interested in the story, in dynamics in gay relationship. Like everything is in the mindset. that is absolutely not what fetishizing is. it is a completely valid argument. Take a look at half the comments on this site. Yaoi is so very toxic it's unbelievable.
