I normally act the same either way but for teachers and strangers I'm more polite. But with my cousin, oldest brother, and my bff I don't mind telling them some weird things every once in a while. Even if they get mad at me. Last year on my birthday my oldest brother even cursed me out the entire day because I asked him a weird question.
