lets not be rude about it here in the comments. many people do it as coping mechanisms of OCD, anxiety etc, so again lets not. it may not be normal to YOU but to others its a habit, especially is its a part of OCD, its not even something they can control. reply
I do bite my nails when I was like in grade 3 even now still doing it. It became a habit to me I really don't know why. I bite my nails when I was so nervous, scared, exited or even angry it's like it would always calm me down. I just would spit the nails in my mouth and I never ate it. For me, it's a subconscious thing really(like sucking your thumb). I usually don't even realize when I'm biting my nails. I also bite pieces of my skin off as well. I understand it's a problem though and I'm working on trying to stop so my nails can grow back. reply
