Weak and dumb characters makes me lose interest. Why can't we have dynamic characters that actually change theirselves for theirselves and not because Person A doesn't like them. SO many things can be changed, too much in fact for me to think of all on the spot so here's a few:
-Normalizing rape tropes by romanticizing them or glossing that shit over. You can add that shit in horror, psychological etc. type plots but it's not romantic and shouldn't be treated as such.

It's really a matter of perspective.
In the case of minors, absolutely. Physical, mental, and emotional maturity play a big role in relationships alone. Kids and especially teens who are underdeveloped want to be looked at as older and more mature, and sometimes that means pursuing older romantic partners that "don't treat them like a stupid kid." ...... reply
I think some of the cliches can be recycled and new ones can be made like right now... Becuase I'm a little bored with yaoi when I read eight in a row and they all have a similar plots or story line.
