They aren't strong. They are badly written characters written by authors who have sex fetishes and some very therapy worthy issues. After reading a certain amount of BLs, it becomes pretty clear most of these authors have never spoken to a gay man, that's how unrealistic and asspull their writing is. Unrealistically strong, I feel like they are written that way on purpose. To be idealized as the perfect doormat but also they secretly want everything that happens to them so *gasp* they were actually in control of the narrative the whole time, rather than the victim they were the mastermind, it's like a male Mary sue.
