Straight or gay, it makes both of them uncomfortable. With the exception of Phan and a few others, most of them are incredibly creeped out when they find out.
Hell, I had a group of friends who “shipped” me with a person I liked, and I didn’t appreciate it.
If you’re going to do that, keep it to yourselves. Or be slightly MORE normal and save it for the 2D world only.
