Is it possible to fall in love with a fictional character?
Despite being an adult who DOES develop crushes on real people (rarely) and does also have passing crushes on a LOT of fictional characters (which usually consists of me idealizing them and then just being a chill fan of them once the idealization wears off); something has been making me confused a bit lately.
There has been one fictional character I've had a crush on for almost 3 years. I have already gone through my idealization phase for them; and no longer see them with rose glasses.... yet I still like this character a lot.
Yet even with real crushes, they usually pass after like a short while.
My question to you is this: HAVE YOU EVER FALLEN FOR A FICTIONAL CHARACTER BEFORE? 2) WHAT MADE YOU FALL FOR THEM? 3) WILL IT WEAR OFF EVENTUALLY?
Thanks for reading, have a splendid day!!!(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Well, I'm afraid you've been diagnosed with a deadly disease. Unfortunately there is currently no cure, but fortunately the side effects aren't too bad. You'll experience relative disinterest to anything that's not 2D and on your screen.

I haven't fallen in love with a fictional character. HOWEVER I think its because your brain registers it as a human face. for example a bunch of scribbles won't register as a human face so you have no feelings towards it. brain registers it as a humane face = human emotions towards it reply

What made me fall for them is the fact that I know I would be able to get along with them, they are attractive af and depending on the person their level of respect towards women is amazing (Ex: Tamaki from Ouran Host Club). I highly doubt...... 2 reply
"in love with" to me implies they have feeling for you as well.. so I'd say no.
Well.. infatuated with, lustfully hunger for, definitely. It may or may not go away. I have been lusting for Sebastian Michaelis ever since the anime started.. and there are a few others as well. I'm a sucker for the 2D perfection, and a good voice actor (Japanese o...... 1 reply
just a note btw. When I say 'fall in love' its obviously one-sided affection.
I mean, it's a fact that a fictional character can't fall for any of us; but despite that I believe it is okay to still have feelings for them regardless.
I feel like sometimes it can be a safe zone to have feelings for someone without any of the pain. Or in my case, it ...... reply
