What are your thoughts about gay romance?
I know people read a lot of yaoi/ yuri, but I want to know what you really think of it. Do you love the story because it's fiction but are disgusted about it in real life? Do you think it's beautiful or do you just read it for the smut?
I am asking this because I have met people who had contrary opinions about yaoi/ yuri in fiction and real life (I know, it's weird) （￣へ￣） I don't know how anyone could have that thought, though #－.－)
Because I'm asexual, I have issues with women being in romantic or sexual situations. It's like I can see myself projected through anything that has tits & I tell her to go sit in a corner & just watch. That means het & yuri do nothing for me but create an uncomfortable atmosphere. I read it for the romance and the smut, and since there's a large variety of stories now, I enjoy learning the authors' experiences from them.
I love yaoi but I don't really care about gay people in real life, it's none of my business. My fantasies stay in my head. : ) reply
I absolutely love reading yaoi. in fact, when i am reading "normal" romance mangas, i see two guys together or having a "yaoi moment", i automatically ship them together, even if they have a heterosexual relationship with another. Well, I would say, that it depends on my mood, if I'm in the mood for smut, I only read smut, but if I'm in the mood for some romance, I read either Yuri or yaoi romance, because it's cute.
And I think, it's cute in real life too, like, when you see two women (or men) holding hands and just living their life, without getting interrupted by hateful...... reply
I think love can be a very beautiful no matter who or what you choose to love

I don't mind gay romance, most of my friends are in the LGBTQ+ community, and I also have a girlfriend. I do know that my friend(straight) supports LGBTQ+ but he doesn't like yaoi or yuri. reply
I have never ever had a problem with gays or anything like that. But I do mostly read it for the sake of the story, yaoi that are realistic about society are pretty few (and I LOVE those) and because of that I mostly just expect at good love story with a bit of smut. love is love, and lust is lust, i am all for see people enjoying and expressing their affection and desire regardless of their gender or sexual identity as long as they seem happy, the key word here is enjoying
