How did you grow up?

i grew up with two parents: a father who was abusive and a mother who tried to protect us. my dad was really nice to others and kept his cool most of the time, but when he got angry at something i did then he would hit me, drag me up the stairs, lock me in my room, etc. it traumatized me and now i think i have a split personality because of it. t......   reply

Had to grow up real quick because my parents were always working so I had to raise my younger sisters... Also parents didn't speak the language so I had to translate everything, in the doctors office, grocery store, all the official papers etc. Also very emotionally deprived. We're not big on talking about feelings and shit.   reply

My parents weren't really around much so I was mostly home alone, I learned how to cook and clean for myself, I then became independent basically.   1 reply
