Well I like both. It's nice to see development between characters, and to see their story, and changes they go through, but eventually, it's only natural when you get to a certain point in a relationship that you will get intimate. So I love to read mangas that have both.

I prefer Yaoi because of the smut. Usually, there are some bad plots but I don't think i could handle shounen ai. I'd want them to fuck so badly and that would kill me. reply
I mostly read yaoi. I just never feel satisfied when I read shounen ai. I yearn for the passion that yaoi gives me. I don't think the plots are that bad either. It really just depends on the mangaka though. If I love that mangaka's work I will read it even if it's not yaoi. 1 reply
Both, sometimes I need sexual action and other times I need fluffy angst. To be honest I just read whatever if the description sounds interesting so Genres don't matter much to me. reply
Shounen ai. I like pure, slight stories more where they just kiss, hug and stuff. Yaoi tends to focus on smutty scenes which I don't like. I prefer plot over porn. reply
