Pansexuality bad?
Ok so I was looking around Pinterest and minding my own business and I saw this pin joking about how bisexual people are half straight and half gay. In the comment section there were people arguing about how being bi doesn’t mean you only like 2 genders but it actually means you’re attracted to all people regardless of their gender. But then people were arguing about how that’s what pansexuality. This kept going on for a while and this is what I got from both sides. -pansexuality has transphobic and biphobic roots -bisexuality is not limited to two genders but can mean liking multiple genders
-labels change as time changes so bisexuality being only two genders and pansexuality being multiple genders is valid -people not acknowledging that pansexuality as valid is panphobic
I‘m interested in hearing what you guys have to say about this conversation and what your takes in it are.
While I don’t know the origins of pan sexuality, as a pan myself I love people regardless of gender or lack there of. I don’t know if that’s how bisexuality work since I was told it meant liking both men and women. reply
according to what i know, that's not pansexuality is. i don't know how to explain in well but bisexuality is liking all genders but pansexuality is liking someone REGARDLESS of the gender. 2 reply
What I've seen, it is. Lemme explain why (feel free to ask me about anything.)
Pansexuality was brought from bisexuality. Pan (all) means attraction to all genders, while bisexualitiy was only 2. However, bisexuality includes all genders. Because of this, pansexuality was made for "gender blind" people, but that is just bisexuality with a preferenc...... reply
I pretty much agree with every statement. I don't know much about pansexuality roots so i cant say if it has transphobic and/or biphobic roots.
Now, this is only my point of view which many people share but for me pansexuality is being attracted to any person no matter what gender they are. It includes all genders, so definitely trans and non-bina...... reply
