Learning Finnish at the moment.

Though it is hard, because I hear from different sources saying different things.
Like one might say, "I am gay" = "Olen homoseksuaalinen" while one say "Minä olen homoseksuaalinen". It's confusing. I don't know which to use...

But I love Finnish so I'll learn eventually.

Hello!
Nice to hear some one is learning my native language. And here come the explanation for your dilemma.
Both version are technically correct, tough not something a finn would usually say.
Olen homoseksuaalinen=verb and adjective (in finnish you can drop the singular first person pronom)
Minä olen homoseksuaalinen=Personal pronoum, verb and adjective as in I am homosexual.
In spoken language one would normally say: Olen homo=verb and noun. Note that homo is the more casual form of the word homoseksuaali. So Olen homo is the equivalent of I'm gay.
Dont't worry. If you get even close the finns will understand you. Anyways it's so rare that anyone speaks our language. We'll be thrilled!
Have fun with your studies!
