When I was still in middle school, my school hold a seminar. Then my friends from other class were chatting beside me. Because i was bored, then i asked her if i could borrow her phone. Then, on the lock screen, there were Hinata and Kageyama from haikyuu. They were so cute, Kageyama kissed Hinata's forehead. Out of nowhere, "Yaoi" popped in my mind, because i remembered about some of my friends talking about this. Then I SHOUTED, "IS THIS YAOI?" (LOL... i was still innocent that time). She said, "yeah". Because i was attracted of it, i asked if she know about a yaoi series. Then, she answered, "Junjou Romantica". Then i googled it, and the anime popped out,then i tried to download it. Then... i watched it... and i was really blushing, and fangirling a lot XD. After i completed watching, i tried to try the manga.. and.. I was completely red... blushing... the d*ck was not shown in anime. It was my first time seeing a d*ck in manga. After that... i was really addicted of Yaoi, and searched other Yaoi mangas. ps : up until now... i'm still worried if my friends heard i shouted yaoi XD ps2: i'm still learning english btw (=・ω・=)
My first yaoi was Junjou Romantica too, I'm pretty sure that's one of the biggest Gateway Yaoi. I typically steered clear of Yaoi till then, I didn't think I'd be able to enjoy it as I wouldn't relate to the main character, as a female, but in desperation from lack of romance anime I watched it and was hooked. Of course my taste in yaoi has changed a lot since then but JR will always have popped the cherry of my 'yaoi land'.
Same with me. When i was still new to yaoi, i read all kind of yaois. But then, i"m like, developing a fetish-maybe? XD . But still, JR is still "special" to me. Because it's my first yaoi anime and manga. I still remember how embarrassed i was.
