Religious trauma
And first I want to start off by saying I don’t think religion is inherently bad, I just have religious trauma because I was told I was going to be tortured in hell & that god is disappointed in me constantly at a young age (even more so after I came out).
I have really intense nightmares now about burning in hell and being tortured. Church makes me feel incredibly depressed and nauseous and even Christmas music is triggering. Does anyone else deal with this? I’ve tried talking to people about it before but they never seem to understand why it’s so scary.
I don’t like being prayed for because it makes me feel like people see me as the devil. But that’s more so because my sister called me satan and sometimes I feel like my parents see me as a demon because of my mental health. reply

Cause I know that at least 60%+ of the religious catholics are homophobic as shit...
Even worse that my dad is babtist same as my aunt and well just to my luck they're even more homophobic...

O_O damn, I didn't think some churches/religions made people feel like this, that's ridiculous and horrible. Again, it'd be awesome if you guys could have visited my church or even met some of the people I went to church with, that'd be nice. I wish that some churches and religious people weren't so toxic about things and could be more flexible. Or...... reply

I can only speak for my own expirience, so I guess I can only say that I was lucky? Cos growing up my religious education was more focused on the good things, like I knew about hell and all that, but it was always more about God being mercifu...... reply

My grandparents are extremely religious and they only told me about stuff from the bible and miracles done by saints.
And that God is merciful that likes children who prays ( idk why he only likes children )
