Are straight women that read bl manga fetishizing?
I’ve seen a lot of people on here argue about this so i’m gonna give my take on this. Probably gonna get cancelled
So my answer is yes but, if that’s the only kind of media they consume then it’s fetishization and they use it to get off then it’s fetishization.
This also isn’t based just on my opinion. I’ve asked many different members of lgbtq+ community that i know and a lot of have agreed with me. Some others disagreed but yea I just wanted to see you guys’ opinions.
My first post here and it is on this oh my. Forgive me for any mistakes...it's 2 a.m. here but I hope I make sense.
Ok so this is not an attack on the OP in any way at all, but honestly, I wish I can Thanos erase the notion of bl = irl homosexuality from ppl's minds and the entire internet for all time lol.

I don’t care. Keep yo nasty ass fantasies to yourself live your trans gay queer pan bi fantasy in your head by yourself and your imaginary friends. I’m tired of people complaining about it as if that would change anything you complaining isn’t helping them realize what they’re doing is wrong. You calling them a straggot and then getting mad...... 1 reply
Some of these replies are bullshit. Fetishization does not need to be linked to any sort of sexual arousal for it to qualify as fetishization. Getting off to gay porn or depictions of it in media is already fetishizing in and of itself. It goes beyond that. Being a queer individual doesn’t give you any freebies either.
And can we stop comparing...... 2 reply
Honestly I find sex sexy (depending on how it's depicted). Gay, straight, lesbian, orgy. I'm here for all of it. I grew up reading strictly hetero shit then dove into BL waters in only the last year, so I've been reading mostly BL manga at least. I don't think there's anything wrong with being aroused by sex of any nature. But I hope all people tak...... 1 reply
Just gonna say that cis straight women shouldn’t be part of this conversation/debate at all. Why the fuck do some cishets think they get to talk over us and decide what’s actually oppression. You (not op just cishet women in general. Idk if they are one) can rant to me about what’s actually queer oppression once you’ve been abandoned by you...... 4 reply
It's not fetishizing. They are not using it for they're sexual desires or have a crazy obssession over it. At this point people like using words they don't know. And find a reason to "educate" someone. I hate this generation 1 reply
I think as long as you can separate fiction from real life it’s fine. Like don’t read it and expect every guy out there to be gay all of a sudden. It’s just a work of fiction and the characters are usually pretty hot and the story lines are pretty interesting. Same thing goes for gl. Doesn’t matter who you are, just respect that it is ficti...... 2 reply
uhhhh, bl is a genre. it isn’t fetishizing unless the bl itself has an issue or the reader has a issue. not every straight female reads bl because the characters are two men (sorta like you said)...
bl doesn’t belong to anyone or any group, that would be like straights saying they claim shoujo and if anyone else even touches it they are despic...... 2 reply
