Sorry, guys! During system maintenance, some functions like comment are unavailable.

Um, no thank you.

Before you read, feel free to slap the thumbs down button (if there is any? I don't know) on this comment to send a virtual slap to me in the face. ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ

TL; DR (To Long; Didn't Read):
No, and don't want to. They are real people, don't project your own fantasies onto them. I wouldn't want someone I know (or don't know) to do that to me. But if you do do it to an extent...well, please don't go all serious I guess ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Disclaimer Alert:
This is not a hate rant or comment to people who ship, only a (somewhat friendly) reminder not to go too far into shipping that you forget to draw a line between fantasy/fiction and reality.

Whole comment: (If you do read, please read till the end to avoid misunderstanding anything I have said. Cheers)

THE SUBJECT OF MY RANT (I GUESS) BELOW IS MAINLY PEOPLE WHO SHIP, BUT SHIP TO AN EXTENT THAT IS NOT EXACTLY OKAY (GO HAYWIRE WHEN THEIR SHIP SINKS). OF COURSE, A MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO DO SHIP AREN'T AS EXTREME AS WHAT I'M DESCRIBING, SO...anyway, feel free to slap me again ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ

I don't think we should put our fantasies onto real life people, I mean, I wouldn't like it if someone I knew, or even worse, didn't know, started to use me in their shipping and other fantasies. (Though I AM ugly, so, thanks to that I'm probably not going to be in any anyways (⊙…⊙ ) )

Firstly, there should always be a clear line between reality and fiction. Sure, fiction draws from reality, but fiction IS NOT reality.

One might say, well, why can you ship characters in a story, but not in real life?

Well first, this is an illogical comparison. Key terms? Characters VS REAL LIFE people. The characters from the stories and fictional worlds, at least, don't exist as an individual in the real world we live in. They exist in the fictional world, and that's that.

Also, there has been a similar argument regarding actors and idols and whatnot, where people see two people have good chemistry in a film or in their interactions and therefore ship them.

Particularly with acting, where two individuals may or may not have an established relationship within the realm of the film/movie/series. (Example, The Untamed, Wei WuXian and Lan Zhan actors Xiao Zhan and Wang YiBo)

People become dissatisfied, even angry, seeing those very actors act in other movies with other actors.

We need to realise they are their own person and not dolls or whatnot for us to project our fantasies upon.

Some people even go as far to say, "So? They brought it upon themselves for choosing to act with another actor as in a fictional relationship, so they need to bear the consequences."

This is where people really try to draw out the argument and completely disregard the logic of their statement.

That being said, many people do end up having tendencies to ship after seeing good chemistry, and I guess as long as they don't push or project it onto those people and become overly dissatisfied or angry when the ship doesn't happen, then... ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Again...This is not a hate rant or comment to people who ship, only a (somewhat friendly) reminder not to go too far into shipping that you forget to draw a line between fantasy/fiction and reality.

And on that note, cheers guys.

Extra:
(An even worse scenario than someone shipping two individuals together would probably be shipping themselves with another person. To the point that when that person gets involved in a normal relationship with someone they are interested in, they make a really big deal about it. "OMG scandalous")

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ALL readers or ALL fans do this, I'm saying some do, and I'm addressing what I've seen.

Also, I ended up writing an 'Experience' comment instead of an 'Answer' one because I...am dumb.
