Fake

I guess I'm just old but my first yaoi was Fake, when once upon a time you had to walk in to book store and buy it and the person behind the registers at borders would stare at you and try to guess just how old you really were. While I never had a problem buying the first books I remember the last volume was all wrapped in plastic with a big red rating R sticker on the front. Of course being under age like anyone else who discovers yaoi for the first time it took me weeks to convince someone to go and pick up a copy.
But to this day I still find it to be one of the better reads if your looking for more then just smut. The seme has to win over the uke instead of jumping him in bed in the first book, the female characters are memorable enough to hold their own, and you can take an interest in the male characters who aren't gay.
