I was about 12 years old when it all started. (17 now!) I had just found out that you could watch anime series on youtube. So I started to watch maiden-sama, ouran high school host club and Code geass with english dub. when I was 12 all i did on the internet was playing kids online games and watch youtube videos so I didn't know about anime websites. but I was very happy with my youtube anime at that time. And then one magical day I found the videos for jounjou romantica. I got hocked right away! When I didn't find the english sub I watched it with german sub even tho I knew next to non german and japanese. I just hade to watch it! After watching the series I just couldn't leave this new wonderful world full of gay relationships. (We all know I just watched it for the sex in the beginning.)
It didn't take long before I found out about the manga. So I found a website and I started to read it. I told my parent that I read Fruits basket on the Ipad. OH if they only knew what their 12 year old was doing!!! And after reading both jounjou romantica and fruits basket (both top 10 manga!) I found all the other yaoi manga series and I started to learn about the anime, manga and yaoi fandoms. I still read yaoi mostly everyday, and today I am a hardcore otaku!
I want to thank yaoi for my great English grades and knowledge. I'm Swedish so english ain't my first language and thanks for me reading yaoi manga everyday after school, I learned the english language.
Ps. All my friend believe I am all innocent and know little about sexual stuff just because I've had no experience and I never talk about it. But to all my friends out there, I get all your jokes!
I discovered since on youtube to and thorn Yaoi by accident but became hooked almost as fast lol.I'm only now starting to expand out of the Yaoi genre but still red it avidly. Yeah. Lol. I totally agree. I accidentally stumble upon Junjiu Romantica when looking for a romance anime(w/heterosexual relationships) like Kaichou wa maid-sama. Then, I found JUNJOU ROMANTICA!!! I was a bit confused at first at the relationship between Misaki and Usagi, but after their first kiss I was in love. Until now, my friends do not know my amazing hobby. I have been hoping for my brother to like men so I can have an exclusive look into a boyxboy relationship. But unfortunately, he says he is not(I know he is, he can't hide it). I still thank the yaoi gods for allowing me to appreciate and enjoy the great yaoi/shounen ai anime and manga in the world. By the way, I was 12 at the time and I'm currently 14.
