Depends. Things like the reclamation of slurs should absolutely be gatekept, and there's lots of things that are gatekept for safety reasons (as they should be), but there's plenty of other shit where there's truly no reason to do that. Lmao I’m just gonna say it. People who try to gatekeep this site are fucking clowns. Keyword try. It’s literally so easy to find this site even if you don’t know the name. I think gatekeeping is neutral and depends on the person. For me, I have a reason I kinda gatekeep though. I used to get made fun of for liking anime and BL so when the people started liking it due to their fav rappers or the trends it pissed me off. I like Japanese music for the longest time, got made fun of for it because I didn't listen to drake...... 1 reply
