A handy dandy guide on what to do if you get restricted

1. first off: check if you're actually restricted.

"Once restricted, your account cannot interact with other users, will not get any notifications, and your posts will only be visible to you."

a good way to check if you're restricted or not, is to log out of your account (or have someone else check for you) and see if your homepage is blank or not. If it is, but when you're on your own account you can see your manga, congrats, you're restricted.

note: if people can interact with you, and you can interact with others asking "AM I RESTRICTED GUYS GUYS HELP !!!" you probably aren't.

uh yeah, this also happens.

2. Okay. you figured out you're restricted. but, why?

well, maybe it's because you didn't follow the "Ask a question" guidelines:

1. Posting non-manga related questions and/or topics could result in your account being restricted.
2. Posting discussion about a specific manga here will be considered as spam, please go to the specific manga page to share.
3. Once restricted, your account cannot interact with other users, will not get any notifications, and your posts will only be visible to you.

and got reported.

Or maybe because you were a troll, and got mass reported and then banned. Or maybe you were just that disliked that many people reported you and you ended up getting restricted.

3. How do I get unrestricted?

first off, don't panic lol.

the best thing to do for now is to email mangago ([email protected]) or to comment on mangago’s wall, which is http://www.mangago.me/home/people/1/home/. although, i highly recommend emailing them, because i emailed and got my account back. and i don't think the commenting on mangago's wall has ever worked. for anything.

Note: be courteous. be polite. and spam them. and passive aggressively threaten them to give you your account back.

It took me two days to get mine back, but it might take longer depending on when mangago checks their inbox. I have friends that never got unrestricted, so just pray and hope for the best.

4. I'm unrestricted now, but my homepage's manga's still all gone. What do I do?

this is the most painful part.

this is because i was previously restricted for a while, and all my manga just disappeared to everyone except me.

When you get restricted, mangago marks all your saved manga as

[] only visible for myself. which means no one (except for you) can see it.

to have others see your collection of manga, simply unclick the box. Now, I had a pretty hefty collection of manga already, so I spent an afternoon just unclicking those "[ ] only visible for myself" boxes.

i still have 200 or so that remain unclicked.

5. HELP. IT'S BEEN LIKE A FEW WEEKS BUT MANGAGO STILL HASN'T REPLIED AND MY ACCOUNT IS STILL RESTRICTED

folks, make an alt. make a new account.

just do it.

do it early.

i have one, just in case this one gets restricted another time.

in your new account, you won't be able to utilize some features for like a month (?) but after that, you'll have a working account. when you get restricted, transfer your manga over to your alt. make new lists.
