If u meant bi women too, then i personally read BL to take the piss out of the writing. Unless i actually like the plot. Maybe I'll read it because I like the storyline, the artstyle, or one of the characters.

I don't really dig too deep in how they identify unless its part of the plot (basically no to your first question). I do read bl (and other genres) for plot and art cause thats the good stuff.
