Actually, we don't have a rice equivalent. Wheat's the closest probably but even that's a stretch 'cause a bazillion different things are made with it and no one's really buying anything specifically *because* it's made from wheat, so it's not quite the same as eating rice for the sake of eating rice because it's rice. reply
Actually, I've wondered that recently too... I'm Indian so it's the same for me, rice is our staple. I don't think there's a Western equivalent, to be honest reply
