Need some advice to help my friend. (slightly serious)
Hi guys, sorry for the long story but it will make sense why if you read it. But anyways this is really important to me so I'm going to get straight to the point.
About a week ago a new kid enrolled at my school, which is pretty cool and exciting because I go to a relatively small school and hardly get to meet new people and whatever.
I and my friend group noticed though that he was sitting alone at lunch and even in classes, and seemed to be relatively ignored by everyone, gaining our sympathy. We, being the extremely tight friend group that we are hesitated at first to invite him over. But just the other day we asked him to sit with us at lunch and during classes.
He was relatively quiet and did not laugh or talk nearly as much as the rest of us, thinking that he was just shy or whatever we simply ignored it until he started joking about weir things and started asking us even weirder questions.
Brushing them off as a joke as well until he asked "yo' you guys know if I can get away with smoking in the bathroom?" which honestly made things pretty uncomfortable, and I just brushed it off with a joke and while everyone was laughing he asked "yeah, lol but do guys like smoke weed? like legit I really could go for some or just coke, if you know what I mean" he says laughing.
Thinking he's joking we laugh too but then my other friend says "dude, wait do you smoke weed?" again completely joking but he answered anyways with a straightforward "yeah, why?". We again laughed it off but it still makes me uncomfortable and especially scared for his own well being, considering how strict our school is.
I'm sorry guys I just want what's best for him, even though we technically just met. And I know that this post will more then likely be taken down but it would be great if you could somehow give me advice or whatever to help him or even just relax the situation. Thanks ahead!
If he wants to smoke weed and take the risk of being caught then that's entirely up to him, just let him know how strict the school is. If he still does it then it's on him.
If you and your friends aren't comfortable with it then let him know that you won't get involved but also let him know that you won't snitch on him (I'm assuming you won't).

let the dude smoke weed its not really that big a deal, i know tons of people who smoke weed so just dont take it too seriously and let him do as he wants. there isnt anything you could do to get him to stop or anything and might make him weirded out when attempting to. as long as you dont start smoking it then you might as well just ignore it and ...... 1 reply
I mean it's his choice. I don't think you need to take it so seriously. As long as he doesn't force other people to do anything, you can just let him do whatever he wants to do. He's responsible for himself after all.

how old r u. tell the dude the school will probably catch him if its that strict. ppl in my school started smoking in about sophomore year but my little sister says ppl start smoking now in eighth grade and now ppl dab and juul in class w out getting caught. lmao i guess what im saying is to recommend a dab pen bc vaping is less likely to get caugh...... reply
Weed being legal where I live, I would just tell him not to smoke on the school grounds cause it would get him in trouble.
I would discourage him for the coke, but weed wasn't proven to be harmful to health though it can affect brain development if you're under 21 (but there shouldn't be any severe effects on him since a teenager brain is almost as...... reply
Tell him "Man, it's your business what you do but I think you should know that they do make a very big deal about that at this school, so if they catch you, you will likely be expelled/suspended/(insert whatever punishment you know they will apply at your school).
