Why are people so dumb?
I'm not even trying to be rude but why are students so dumb and ignorant. I was studying for my geography test and I looked around and saw people literally not knowing where the Philippines was, not knowing where Japan was, mixing Japan and Korea up. I remember thinking to myself, is yall serious? is it that hard to look at a map and remember even just a little bit? The very next hour I had science and the teacher was reviewing past material, and literally it was me and 1 other person answering all the questions, could yall not remember what you were taught even a little bit, like???
Idk about your country, but in my place, when we got into high school, students get divided according to their interests. Mostly science student major, social sciences major, art and language major, engineering major, computer thing major (sorry idk how to say this), graphic design, etc. Why? About your last question op, just because your classmates didn't help you answer the questions doesn't mean that all of them didn't remember the thing they were taught. Maybe someone in your class knows the answer but is afraid to speak it because they're shy. It's kinda sad that an 'educated' student assumes someone in their class is dumb just bec...... 1 reply
I'm pretty smart, but my only weakness is geography. I failed that class three times. And had too talk with my counselor to figure out how I can go on without having to pass it. But at least I know the difference between Japan and Korea. I know where Chile is. I also know where Chad is, and some others. But not a lot. 2 reply
I know memorization isn't the only thing that makes you smart but schools are literally built on having students memorize and know the material. When I say dumb I mean it in terms of school, not in terms of things like IQ. Memorization might even be more important than problem solving since employers are looking for good grades and grades are pret...... 2 reply

P.S. Memorizing things doesn't mean someone is smart. Imo, 'smart' is the ability to comprehend and understand topics with logical thinking and finding logical solutions to problems. 1 reply
