I only read shojo manga back in middle school and had quite literally never heard of bl (I remember some of my friends talking about it and my dumbass self who has always lived with a very conservative family didn’t understand how two men could be in a relationship... like legit). Maybe it’s because I was a super hardcore reverse harem/otome game fan that I started kind of shipping two male characters together? Like idk about you but most of them vibe better with each other rather than with the female heroine/fl. Tbh I don’t know what happened after that but I think I maybe stumbled across bl/shonen ai mangacaps online and thought the ship was cute. One of the first (if not the first) bl mangas I ever read was ten count... and now I’m basically a closet fujoshi because reading shojo just isn’t as satisfying/interesting anymore to me.
